Censys Technologies announced on August 10th, 2020, that it has closed its most recent round of Series Seed funding which will provide growth capital to serve more enterprise customers, UAS service providers and government organizations with innovations in remote sensing solutions.

The investment was led by Kirenaga Partners, an early-stage venture capital firm with offices in New York and Orlando, and comes at a time when the growth of the drone marketplace is accelerating. Jeff Decker of BakerHostetler was lead counsel on the transaction, closely supported by Jason Brady.

Censys Technologies offers a one-of-a-kind remote sensing package to revolutionize the way aerial information is collected for infrastructure and property. A trailblazer in the commercial Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) marketplace, Censys has created a name for themselves within the US market. Their mission is to propel industrial drone users by minimizing overhead and operation headaches with industry-leading, long-range drones, and rapid data processing solutions.

“The Censys management team is ecstatic to join forces with Kirenaga and create value in the world through innovation. StarterStudio and Space Florida in collaboration with the Florida Venture Forum were instrumental in getting us here,” said Censys Co-Founder and CEO Trevor Perrott. “As we welcome David Scalzo and Noel Heiks to our Board of Directors, I’m confident that we’re bolstering the company’s leadership to capture large opportunities in the coming months and years. Fundamentally, this capital moves Censys Technologies forward and positions us to better serve our customers around the globe.”

“Censys is led by a young and talented management team. Their drone technology provides fast and highly accurate data acquisition services for numerous government and commercial enterprises. It’s a large and growing marketplace, and we’re excited to help Censys scale their business,” said David Scalzo, Founder and Managing Partner of Kirenaga Partners.

“The Censys team continues to innovate and drive real world solutions to complex UAS business problems. They continue to hit critical milestones and think out of the box as it relates to solving industry needs,” said Rodney Cruise, Vice Chair of Central Florida tech incubator, Starter Studio. “We are proud they are a part of the Embry Riddle Research Park and look forward to their continued success.”
