Why do you need a waiver?

FAA Part 107 is the home of the Operating Rules of Unmanned Aircraft Systems. In order to traverse into the future of drone flight operations, the many rules encompassed by Part 107 need to be overridden. The key to this, and subsequently the future, is waivers.

Our in-house experts have current approvals in writing Part 107.31, 107.33b, and 107.33c-2 waivers for both corridors (powerlines/pipelines/etc) and areas (agriculture/mapping/ISR/etc) in sparsely populated environments in Class G airspace.

F.A.Q.

The waiver process is confusing. You’re not the only one with questions! Check out our FAQ and if you still need answer, reach out!

We’re here for you.

Do you write the entire waiver?

Yes, we can either serve as architects of the waiver by guiding you, or we can take your input and goals and put them into a waiver.

Is there restrictions on where the waivers can be?

Geoconstrained and non-geoconstrained waivers are both options for BVLOS. Our team will evaluate your company’s situation to determine feasibility of waiver approval based on operating area and other risk areas to formulate the end risk assessment.

Does the waiver have to be for a Sentaero?

No, but it is much more difficult to get approval for an aircraft that is not our own. Even if the proposed aircraft has Detect-and-Avoid technology to strengthen the safety case, we do not have the same depth of knowledge on the system architecture that we have on our own system, therefore it will be harder to get the adequate information.
